This is inspired by the soft grays and whites of the ocean, with a glow of green and yellow light. A seafoam covered wave with sunlight shining through!
Inspired by the Pacific Ocean on the coast of Washington, where I live. It fascinates me that this painting captures just a split second in time, then it's gone. A moment when all of the energy comes together to display something so profoundly beautiful. Each wave is rare with its own unique beauty.
The sun lighting up this wave with a distant gray sky makes this a moody and powerful scene that also is soft and inviting.
I love it when a big wave crashes making the surface foamy, then a smaller swell crests behind it, drawing up the seafoam making a magical tunnel of water and light come to life ✨🙏
