]]>There is a profound clarity that envelopes you near the waves and ocean. A soothing of the soul, a return to home, a sense of aliveness and freedom.
This lucid state of being is one that is in you, but can slip away, only to be renewed by the presence of ocean waves.
Lucid | Oil on Canvas | 30” x 30”
This painting is a reflection of that state of being. It brightens your mood, melts your worries and brings you calm. A liquid dream of bright luminous water, moving and powerful. A vision of immediate light, in which we know truth and see clearly.

I was honored last night at the opening of the gallery showcase featuring 8 local women artists whose work was chosen to adorn the lobby and exam rooms throughout the building.
Art does make a difference, as one physician shared with me with tears in her eyes that her patience often comment on the calming effect of my water artwork while facing difficult health issues. To be able to bring calmness and comfort through artwork is at the heart of my mission, and this is the perfect place to share it.
I’m grateful to be a part of this special place along with women artists, all of whom are now friends 🤗

I visited Baja this winter by airplane, remembering when I sailed down the coast of Mexico in my 20s.
I had what some might call an inner death and I was reborn with new perspective...
Here's an excerpt from my blog:
February 9, 2011, Bahia de San Quintin, Baja Mexico (I just turned 27)
"We left Ensenada early Friday. We had the engine firing as first light came over the mountains. We motored in calms through the passage between Punta Banda and the Todos Santos Islands and laid a course a little offshore down to San Quintin, about 110nm South, we estimated a 24hr trip. Dolphins followed us in clear calm water riding the swell (10ft at 17sec) until the winds started to pick up around 1pm.
We were full sail making 7 knots on a broad reach – excellent speed! The winds really started to pipe so we reefed down the main and half furled in the genny. The seas started to build enough I was feeling sick and went below to lie down. Nearing sunset I threw up lunch all over the transom. There was white caps everywhere. The swell was so much bigger than I had ever seen, as we sailed through the troughs it was just sea towering above us, and as we went over the crests the boat surfed down the face. As night closed in on us the winds didn’t die down at all and the seas had built enough to give me a solid scare.
It was a miserable night but the boat sailed beautifully. Afraid to tack, we headed a little off course farther out to sea thinking we might just go farther South.
We decided to heave-to around 2am, which we had never attempted before, just read about. It makes the boat stall basically. We managed to pull it off after digging up the storm tactics book and madly flipping pages yelling directions. There was no sleep.
Around 4AM we had our first close night encounter with a cargo ship. It showed up on the AIS before we saw any lights, moving northbound at 20 knots, right at us. We tried to alter course and made a few useless calls on the radio. It passed less than 1 mile from us, which at sea felt way too close on a moonless howling night.
Dawn finally came thick with clouds, the winds died down and we headed for San Quintin – still throwing up."
In retrospect, this night I was so sick and in such a terrifying situation, I had the fear shaken out of me over hours of throwing up in the middle of the stormy sea.
I remember this night as one of the most profound nights of my life, moving through fear with a new meaning of what it was to be alive. This was totally a self-guided decision and I thought I might die at sea, which was not reality. We were not even taking water on deck!
Being in a small 27’ ft sailboat in that kind of swell, off the Baja coast, in mid-winter, with over 30 knots of wind was the wildest most crazy sh*t I’d ever done. But I survived, and I learned about fear that night, and overcoming it, and I kept on going!!
So, if you are still with me on the longest email ever...
When in Baja this last winter, I walked the beach and climbed the rocks and found a magical nook where the waves were crashing. I was feeling so alive being on the frothing ocean, reminded of that night sailing south, and overcoming fear through the oceans ultimate power.
This is what inspired this piece :)
Through my art, my intent is to help others heal, sharing the ocean's resilience and power to soothe souls and offer hope 💙

I go to the sea for renewal and charge. It is undeniable the aliveness I feel, the ocean is life-giving 🙌
This is inspired by the soft grays and whites of the ocean, with a glow of green and yellow light. A seafoam covered wave with sunlight shining through!
Inspired by the Pacific Ocean on the coast of Washington, where I live. It fascinates me that this painting captures just a split second in time, then it's gone. A moment when all of the energy comes together to display something so profoundly beautiful. Each wave is rare with its own unique beauty.
The sun lighting up this wave with a distant gray sky makes this a moody and powerful scene that also is soft and inviting.
I love it when a big wave crashes making the surface foamy, then a smaller swell crests behind it, drawing up the seafoam making a magical tunnel of water and light come to life ✨🙏

Print of Glowing Wave, Sovereignty, Prints on Canvas
In addition to fine ocean art, there are many other ways to incorporate coastal elements into your interior design. For example, you could add decorative accents such as seashells, coral, and driftwood, or incorporate natural materials such as wood, stone, and glass into your decor. You could also add botanical elements, such as potted palms or succulents, to create a lush and tropical atmosphere.

Awakening to the inner body, the true self, which I believe is the true understanding of the never-ending infinite power within the self and all beings. In this reality we see all beings are magnificent and connected. Awakening above the mind-made reality into true reality - the power of life in everything and everyone in a constant moving ocean of being.

Inspired on the Pacific coast of Washington, this beautiful aqua blue wave is alive with movement and color, inspiring a sense of aliveness and awe with an energy of hope.
The immense ocean in all of its changing states reflects that of our own, a calm after a storm, and the endless movement in every moment. Waves arriving to distant shores from storms thousands of miles away where the energy takes its final crash with a luminescent display of beauty and finality.
There is always hope when tapped into the infinite and this is what the ocean reminds us of, always renewing, alive and ever-present.
An oil painting inspired by the beautiful fluidity of water, a subject that feels like a reflection of my own self. We are energetic in all ways and this painting reflects the state of calm and connectedness that is in flow with the universe 💙

Inspired by the cold and luminous Pacific Ocean on the Washington Coast 💙 I spent the day at Damon Point in Ocean Shores, Washington capturing a big swell on a sunny day of the glorious beauty here.
Ocean Shores is a quiet, remote part of coast where families in Washington go to seek the solitude and abundance of the sea. Often, a cold, wet and foggy place where only a few houses are close to the ocean beach. It seems there is very little art that celebrates this unique coastline. In some places it is low-lying long stretches of sand and land, other places the cliffs rise up to the forest with dynamic and unreal landscapes of the sea.
I am proud to have created this oil painting of the Washington coast that captures the beauty of the ocean that so many of us love to experience.
This is a renewing, fresh, ocean wave with power, grace, light, movement and a shadowy foamy center that feels inviting in it's shadows.
There is a huge amount of life within us, and the ocean seems to display and capture the essence of something I wish to share and remind the world of.
The beautiful greens that seem to be unique to the water in this area is something I love to capture in oil paint. The Washington coast is like a untapped treasure, a place where few live, and even fewer stay very long.
I hope this inspires you to visit!
This painting of the glowing surf is 60" x 40" and is my largest painting yet!
May we all relax and take time to bask in the beauty that is all around us.

I love how the foam pulls away on the water surface, it is so fleeting and beautiful as it forms, rises and bubbles away. This feeling, after a big wave has broken when the foam is separating and the water is showing it’s colors beneath is just breathtaking to me.
This scene is based off a day walking on the sea in Southern California when the waves were big and alive and the afternoon sun was glowing through the water... something I love to have in my home, alive and fresh.
There was a space in my home with beautiful sage green walls that I painted this for - to hang while it was waiting for a buyer and before the paint had even dried I sold it to a new collector who absolutely adores it.
A lot of emotion poured out of me painting this one. It is amazing how even when experiencing a full body emotion, the trance of painting continues to flow out of me. It had been awhile since I had the experience painting and it was amazingly satisfying and fulfilling to go through the creative process on this painting.
The painting oil paint on canvas and is 60 inches wide (5 ft) by 36 inches tall (3 ft)
