Large Commissioned Oil Painting - Kansas City Lobby

I was commissioned to create an oil painting for the lobby of an insurance office in Kansas City. They wanted midwest lake feeling, with a windy dark water surface and some bronze glow.

The painting was done on loose canvas, stapled to the wall of my studio. This way it could be shipped rolled and framed at the location. It was a very cost effective strategy and worked perfectly! I'm so thrilled with how this came out, my client was very pleased with the finished work.

Before I painted the large painting, I did a small sample painting that I mailed for approval and then began the large piece based on the small sample.

Below I'm shown working in the studio on the painting I named Safe & Sound, and then installed framed painting in the office.
