This oil painting is part of my summer series of plein air works.
Each painting was painted on site in the elements, unlike many of my other works which I paint in the studio.
This painting was done on a private property on the Quinault River that I was lucky to visit. From out the door of my tent, the forest encrusted hills rise quickly, I was able to capture them as the September sun was setting.
