Original Painting, Oil on Canvas
60" x 24" Framed
Ruby Beach is one of the most beautiful places on the Washington coast, and I have dreamed of painting it for years. Finally creating this piece feels very rewarding. I chose to create it at golden hour, when the colors of the sea, sand and sky soften and harmonize.
The sea stacks make the scene unmistakably Ruby, rising from the water like patient guardians, while the distinct coastal pines watch over the coast. The driftwood, always piled high along the shore, adds its own rugged character, bleached by the sun, and rearranged by every storm.
From the cliffs above, the view is through the trees, so this is a perspective a camera can’t capture. Ruby Beach is truly a gem of the Pacific Northwest, a place of wild beauty and endless inspiration!
